    Why can't I download this with the pdf reader I already have on my computer?

      The pdf reader only lets you "read" pdf files. Picasa lets you download whole albums (free crochet books that someone in your circle has put up on Picasa)

    Pdf reader only reads pdf files, it does not download them. Also the picture here is a jpeg file, just a picture.

    Also, Picasa has changed things at the end of 2013 and you can now only download free crochet books uploaded by people in your friends circle.
