Hi Gc,
ReplyDeleteGlad to know my blog helps other people interested in crochet... My mom does a lot of crochet and although I don't get much free time I do a bit some time. I was so overwhelmed with what I found, I just had to share it!!! Happy crocheting!!
Regards,
Marulu.
Hi,
ReplyDeleteI was very happy to read your blog,
regarding free chrochet patterns
from Magic Chrochet.
But after following all your ins
tructions, I still cannot download
the patterns.
After I type "magic chrochet"
in the box, in picasa web page
and say search, I cannot download
any patterns.
Canyou help me? I love to chrochet, and was so excited to
know that I could get such beautiful patterns, but I donot
seem to know what I am doing wrong.
Hope to hear from you.
fatima
I cannot either!
DeleteHi Fatima,
ReplyDeleteIt appears that you have misspelled crochet - your search should be for "magic crochet" and not ""magic chrochet", please note. Good luck!! Hope you find them now.
Marulu.
are there any other crochet pattern magazines i can download or just the 2 mentioned?
ReplyDeleteThere are lots and lots of crochet magazines that you can download for free. Not just the ones I have shown.
ReplyDeleteGood luck!
I have a Macintosh computer and I do see download but it will only down load one page at a time. What did I miss? I saw so many things I wanted but a page at a time is way too long. Thanks for the link and your blog!
ReplyDeleteHi mathwizard,
ReplyDeleteI don't have a Mac but they say the photo uploader for Mac that is available here at http://picasa.google.com/mac_tools.html can be used to download albums as well. Maybe you can give it a shot! Google is yet to come up with Picasa for Mac and they say it is under beta testing and will be released in 2009.
Good luck!
Regards,
Marulu.
I too am having trouble downloading the books. Actually I can't even find them. I followed your directions but to no avail, there's no books. Can you email me with specific instructions or steps? terigrose@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteThanks
Thank you very much. i have been looking for them for years . we don't get them where i am from .
ReplyDeleteagain thank you .
i did everything u said an i don't see no download on my pages all i can do is view them what am i doing wrong?
ReplyDeleteHi Anonymous,
ReplyDeleteGlad my blog helped you.
Hi Laura,
ReplyDeleteHave you installed Picasa? Maybe you have not done that. Just get somebody familiar with Picasa to help you and you will be able to download them for sure. ok? Or you can download each page that you want by going to enlarged view but it can be a very tedious and time-consuming process.
Good luck!
Regards,
Marulu.
I've installed Picasa and can see the magazines...but I don't know how to download the ones I want...pleaswe help.
ReplyDeleteI wish to thank you so very much for this site and tips. Where I live it is impossible to get any books on crochet, and you have just made my day!
ReplyDeleteHi Michelle,
ReplyDeleteGlad my blog was of help to you. Yeah, we too can't get decent crochet books here and we had to depend on relatives abroad to mail us some! Now with the wonder of Internet, virtually nothing is impossible!! Cheers and happy crocheting.
Hi Marulu
ReplyDeleteI have Picasa but I cannot see any of the magazines you have on your blog even tho. I get some other ones from magic crochet. Am I doing something wrong or is there a problem.
Thanks for the information it is just wonderful.
I have found that I have to use Internet Explorer (IE) as my web browser in order to download via Picasa. It won't download using Mozilla Firefox or any other web browser.
ReplyDeleteI've tried this process, but in the end got no results for my searches. In the web album section, I tried entering some of the suggestions that you had in the search box. The next page gave me a "loading," but never went beyond that. Am I doing something wrong?
ReplyDeleteThis is so great!!!! The first time I tried it, I didn't know I had to click in "web albums". This time I did, just out of curiosity, & wow!!! Now, if only I knew the names of all crochet & knit magazines there are...
ReplyDelete8-)
hi a bigggggggggggg thank you . u are really sweet. i dont have words tp exprss hpw happy i m now bcoz i just learn crochet .....thanks again
ReplyDeleteI'm wondering if this hack is still working because I cannot get it to download anything but the picture of the magazine. Is there any new updates for this for 2010? I sure would appreciate it very much. Thank You. btw..I am signed in to picassa.
ReplyDeleteI have gone into this and love it- but the very strange thing I find is that there are a lot of just "pictures" and no patterns associated to them. There are a ton of them that I would love to find the patterns etc - but you click on them and all you get is a picture - nothing else. What is up with that?
ReplyDeletethanks a lot for your tip in downloading the crochet books. found some awesome collections. may god bless u.
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot for all the patterns, but I have trouble to read them.
When I zoom them they get hazy.
Regards,
I can only download pictures of the items, why can't I download the patterns?
ReplyDeletehi thanks for your instructions it was a big help for me.
ReplyDeleteBut when I log in to picasa are my photos being shared online with everyone or what?
thanks again :)
This is the most amazing thing ever ! Absolutely fab ! However I am not able to get pattern instructions aften . Any help available ?
ReplyDeleteTo those who are having problems downloading patterns from Picasa, I have found that I can only download the instructions through IE (Internet Explorer). I cannot download instructions through Firefox. Also, some people only post photos on Picasa, and not the instructions, so make sure the pattern you are trying to download is not just a scanned copy of the front page.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad I happened on this blog! I am downloading as I write this!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for this crochet blog, eager to share this with my mom whose hobby is Crochet. Thanks again! Take care ..
ReplyDeleteThanks SOOO much!! I love the Magic Crochet magazine, and this is just an AWESOME TIP! Thanks for passing it along.
ReplyDeleteHi Donna! Happy crocheting...
ReplyDeleteHello, I joined Picasa to get the free patterns. I'd go and print out a pattern but it was too small to when I printed it out it was too fuzzy. How do you enlarge the pattern to fit the page? I figure if i could do that then I'd be able to read the pattern.
ReplyDeletePlease help me anyone.
Pam
Hi Pam,
ReplyDeleteThe photos of the free crochet books you might have selected could be of low resolution, hence the problem. Try picking some that are in the range of 1235x1590 pixels. If you click on an individual picture, on the right side this will be mentioned under "Photo Information". Hope this helps.
thanks for the tip!!!!
ReplyDeleteall of you who love japanese craft boks and magazines.... there's another link where they can be found and downloaded for free!!!(not just crochet)
http://giftjap.info/freebook/eng/
Your instructions were perfect up through the installation of Picasa -- but what do I do now? I went through all the installation and photo importing stuff, only to be totally frustrated. I have been trying to find free patterns to download with Picasa, and I am totally stumped. If I enter anything into the search box, it only searches my own computer. I finally went to a couple of sites using Google, but believe me, none of them were free! They all let you activate a "free" account, but you still have to give them your credit card number, and everything after that has a price tag, and a hefty one, at that. Can you help me?
ReplyDeleteWhich search box are you using?? U have to use the one on the top right at https://picasaweb.google.com/home
ReplyDeletePlease follow the instructions here:
http://get-free-crochet-patterns.blogspot.in/2008/04/how-to-login-to-picasa.html
Thank you for your response! That is the “blog spot” whose directions I was following when I was able to get to you. I logged in to the correct URL and used the correct search box. All I get is “pictures.” I know I must be doing something wrong, but I have followed the instructions to the letter.
ReplyDeleteMyrna, were you able to download the crochet books after all?
DeleteI am the owner...
ReplyDeleteCheck out this link:
https://picasaweb.google.com/112646603315315814801?noredirect=1
Click on each of the magazines,
then click on the "Download" button at the top
click on "Download to Picasa"
Good luck and Happy Crocheting!!
Hello Marulu, I followed the procedure and got picasa downloaded, installed and even logged in however i was not able to download any crocheting books. I was just wondering if you could share your hand bag pattern with me. they are simply breathtaking.
ReplyDeleteThanks,
Tarllie
Did you search for "Magic Crochet" as mentioned in the instructions? You can check out the comments in the page on crochet bags : http://get-free-crochet-patterns.blogspot.in/2012/03/free-crochet-patterns-for-purses.html#comment-form
ReplyDeleteThe only Web Browser that I use which will allow me to download patteers from Picasa is Internet Explorer. I cannot download patterns from Picasa using Firefox, for example. If you are having problems downloading these patterns, perhaps it is the browser you are using. Switch to Internet Explorer and see if that makes a difference.
ReplyDeleteAlso, not everyone who posts to Picasa allows you to download their pattern books. Some will just let you see the pictures.
Carolyn
hello, i am looking for a specific crochet book that had a pattern in it from a few years back. i bought the book at walmart it had a bunch or different kitchen towels and dish clothes in it. i lost it moving and was wondering if maybe you could help me. id really appreicate any suggestions you might have
ReplyDeleteIf you don't have the name of the book, then it is like looking for a needle in a haystack... I mostly have a collection of Magic Crochet and Decorative Crochet which have a mix of all sorts and not particularly just kitchen towels or dish cloths. A kind lady has offered to help you and she has left her email id but I am not publishing her comment here as it will attract spam in her mail box. You can leave a comment here with your email id and I will not publish it but will put the two of you in touch. Tell me if it is aright with you. Following is her message :
Delete"I have not been able to master Picasa. I am not familiar with the pattern book you described; however, I do have several booklets and patterns for potholders that I would be happy to share with you. If you will send me an email address (mine is xxxxxx@xxx.com), I will be glad to email them to you. Otherwise, if you can suggest another way for me to upload them so you can download them, I will try that."
I am the lady who offered to share patterns. I have MANY, MANY patterns and would be glad to share them with anyone who is interested. My email address is MyrnaT3@gmx.com. If we could set up a free account somewhere I would upload my patterns. I can't get Picasa to work.

ReplyDeleteI am interested in your patterns if you would be willing to share i can email you is this you r current email address
DeleteWell, I see my email address was converted to "x's." I am not very proficient at document "sharing," but if you know a way I can "share" my patterns with you, I'm willing to give it a try. I WAS able to download some patterns, but my husband got sick and had to be in the hospital, so I was interrupted before I could get "on a roll." I heard of something called "Drop Box" that might let me upload documents then give you the access info. Are you familiar with that?
ReplyDeleteHi Im looking for the yellow flower bag on piccassa but can only find the photo on it, not the pattern.
ReplyDeletePlease help me to get the pattern.
Br / Linda
Hi Linda,
DeleteGo to the post on crochet bags and find the link in the comments section at the bottom.
Happy crocheting,
Marulu.
Thank you so much for posting this neat trick! I love using it for crochet and have suggested it to friends as a useful way to store info for other hobbies as well.
ReplyDeleteStep by steps are not woking, help please, :(
ReplyDeleteI cannot get the magic crochet to load, and yes i have downloaded picasa and instuctions but the interfaces do not match what you have.
ReplyDeleteHi Lisa. This blog was made in 2008. Picasa changed a lot and a couple of months back they have eliminated the search option which searched the whole of Picasa. Now the search is restricted to just your pictures and at most those of the people in your circles. And unless you already have some people who have books on Picasa in your circle, you might not be able to download them. However, you can get quite a few Magic Crochet books here : https://picasaweb.google.com/112646603315315814801 This should work for you; let me know!
DeleteHello, I have made the nativity set from Magic Crochet No 98 and 99. I would like to get the sheep pattern to complete the set from issue 100. Would you able to send me a copy of the pattern please?
ReplyDeleteHi Renata. I do not have Magic crochet no. 100 and 101. I have all the other Magic crochet magazines. However, I found Magic crochet no. 100 here : http://www.liveinternet.ru/users/gelexxx/post263743792/ and your sheep instructions are here : http://imgbox.com/abyCOEQC
DeleteAre there any updated how to's for Picasa? My version does not give me the option to download an album to my computer, only to download to Picasa but I can never find where it is (if it even is) downloading to. All I have in my Picasa is my own images. I also am not able to search for anything while on the web, again, only searching my own images. Any help is appreciated! Thank you!

i want to download Magic Crochet no.155 and some Decorative crochet mags but can"t get to them ,help
ReplyDeleteI used to subscribe to Decorative and Magic Crochet, and need to know if it's legal to share those patterns with people on different crochet sites on Facebook etc..
ReplyDeleteYou can share them in a closed group, I guess, not to the general public. Picasa has since changed... earlier anybody could search anybody's albums/books as long as they were posted for "Public". But since October 2013, Picasa has changed that and you can only see albums of people who you have added in your circle of friends (Google Plus).
DeleteAm I able to share patterns from my Decorative and Magic Crochet books to people on different sites on Facebook if they are posted for anyone on that sight to see
ReplyDeleteHi, Sherry. I have all the Magic Crochet magazines except 100 and 101. Would you be having these by any chance? Would love to complete my collection.
DeleteI downloaded picasa, logged in, typed in magic crochet and got ERROR!
ReplyDeleteGo through the comments above; you will find links to download crochet magazines for free
DeleteMe too.
DeleteWhich magic crochet magazine has the lady bookmark
ReplyDeleteWhen I try to search for "magic crochet" it says photo not found and it only searches in my photos. Can you tell me what I am doing wrong, please. Thank you for your help,
ReplyDeleteCathleen
Hi, very much looking forward to seeing the crochet patters but having a problem, I have a picasaweb.google account but am having dreadful trouble finding the pictures and magazines. What am I doing wrong please...
ReplyDeleteIs there any way I can get the contents of Magic Crochet #112. Please help
ReplyDeleteI have been trying to get the Magic Crochet 136 book. Google now is using Photo Downloader, and so the instructions can't be the same. I have the Photo Downloader, and it isn't helping me get the Magic Crochet book. I see no link on the website for downloading that book either. Are there new instructions out there for downloading the books without Picasa?
ReplyDeleteI tried to download picasa and it says it is no longer available. Where do I now go to download copies of Magic Crochet Magazine?
